I know this probably won't get answered, but with all of the tweaks and additions, I'm curious about why the missing female scream wasn't put in? It sounds so odd having a male scream happen when doing Scorpion's fire fatality to Kitana and Mileena. Was there just not enough room for it to be added and keep the file under 4MB?

Hello, I want to pay, but I’m not able to because it says my region is not allowed. Is there another way to pay?

Hi master-linkuei,

I hope you're doing well. I’ve been reading through the material released by Hidden Palace about the unreleased AKIRA prototype for the Sega Mega Drive — the one developed by Black Pearl Software in the early 90s and later dumped by drx after Matsuda found the EPROM boards.

Since the prototype is only partially playable (about 65% accessible, with missing SFX, incomplete stages, unused assets, and several crashes), it remains one of the most intriguing unfinished projects of the 16‑bit era. Its mix of genres and ambitious design make it a fascinating piece of gaming history.

I wanted to share a simple idea: if you ever felt inspired to explore, restore, or expand this prototype, I believe you could bring out something truly special from it. Your past work shows the kind of technical skill and creativity that could give this lost project a second life.

No pressure at all — just a sincere suggestion from someone who appreciates your work and thinks you might enjoy diving into such a unique and historically important unfinished game.

Best regards!

Ok good news I fixed or at least have a workaround for the Mega Everdrive Pro bug (loud buzzing sound when playing track 11)!

I discovered that if you use an audio pack that is BIN + CUE based rather than WAV + CUE then the tracks play perfectly... I have converted the pack done a complete playthrough of the game and it's now working perfectly.

I seem to have a bug playing the MSU-MD 32x+ 1.5c version on Mega Everdrive Pro, when I reach the Wasteland or Pit level I just get a huge buzzing sound until the end of the round. Very strange, I checked the file 11-Wasteland_ThePit2_KahnsArena.wav exists and is mentioned in the cue file so not sure whats wrong. Any advice?

Anyway we can get this working on a real sega cd/mega cd hardware?

The Redbook Soundtrack only works with Original Hardware+Mega Everdrive PRO and maybe on MEGA SD too

Needs the arcade music using the real mega-cd hardware.

I 2nd this, I burned the files to cd not paying attention that it said (Only for everdrive pro

Hmmm black screen on MiSTer Fpga and Retroarch.

Same. I have an older patched version that does run on MiSTer. But this one does not.

i used another rom and it works.

I've tried three different sources now, and none of them work. I'll just stick with the old build I have.

Did the game finally boot for you when you patched the January 1995 version of the rom? That's how it worked out for me.

thanks for this! i had tried everything! we are up and running. now to charge up my anbernic and retroid handhelds!

Are the fatalaties any easier to pull off?

Yes you appear to have more time.
